About Lions Quest

The Lions Quest is an educational program, which supports the formation of safe school environment, helps the development of positive youth and social and emotional skills in students.
The Program raises Global Awareness, teaches civic, health, environmental literacy and skills in the following four main areas:
  • Self-discipline.
  • Responsibility.
  • Good judgment.
  • Respect for others.
Program consists of three life-skills programs for students of different levels:
  • Lions Quest Skills for Growing (Life Skills for Pre-school and Elementary school students).
  • Lions Quest Skills for Adolescence (Life Skills for Adolescents aged 10 to 15).
  • Lions Quest Skills for Action (Skills for Active Citizenship aged 15 to 20).
The above-mentioned three programs bring together families, educators, and community members to help students develop life and citizenship skills within a safe, caring, and consistent environment. Lions Quest distinct mission is to: empower and support adults throughout the world to nurture caring and responsibility in young people. 

History

Lions Quest program has been functioning in Georgia since 2012. The program was first launched in the second largest city of Georgia – Kutaisi. Lions Quest Georgia – Educational Laboratory was founded as a non-profit legal entity on September 9th, 2014. The founding of this organization and the projects implemented by the organization were financially supported by the Lions Clubs International Foundation, NSR- Lions of Scandinavia-Nordic Cooperation and Lions Club Georgia. Since 2012 until present, following activities have been carried out: “Skills for Adolescence” set of manuals (4th Edition) were translated from English under the Lions Quest program management; Two local trainers Mrs. Nino Beselia and Mrs. Tata Gabisonia were trained by an international senior trainer Marianne Jansson; Already translated Set of manuals “Skills for Adolescence” (4th edition) were adapted to Georgian culture and education system. A new teachers’ manual “It’s your choice” was created and printed; Set of books for “Skills for Growing“ were translated from English, adapted to Georgian Culture and education system and printed.

Lions Quest regional trainers conducted Trainings “Skills for Growing” and “Skills for Adolescence” at schools and kindergartens for caregiver-pedagogies and secondary school teachers in the cities of Georgia, where Lions Clubs function.
“Skills for Growing” and “Skills for Adolescence” trainings for caregiver-pedagogies and secondary school teachers.; 15000 teachers were trained. Approximately 45000 students benefit from the program. In 2018-2019 Lions Quest Georgia team worked on the project “Lions Quest programs for Prevention of Violence; The goal of the Project was to grow active, healthy members of civil society, prevent bulling in schools by using LQ programs. At present Lions Quest team is working on the Project “Lions Quest programs for healthy life style – drug prevention”. Within the framework of the project, new sets of books “Skills for Action” are being translated and adapted. The project will contribute to establishing healthy lifestyle among students and prevent unhealthy addictive behaviors by using LQ programs.
