The Lions Summer Camp
Each year, the Lions International Youth Camp and Exchange Program introduce young people to other cultures by helping them to travel abroad. Each youth camp and exchange program includes an extended stay hosted by one of our international clubs.
“The Lions Summer Camp” first took place in Georgia in summer of 2014. 20 foreign guests lived in Atskuri camp and visited cultural sites nearby: Rabati Castle, Vardzia and etc. Camp activities and events were positively praised by participants.
One of the main priorities of our organization is a collaboration with youth and from this point of view, should be particularly noted a youth exchange program, in which our organization takes part from 2006.
We have first become a receiver country of young participants of international camps. This project was carried out with a moral and financial support of the Ministry of Sports and Culture of Georgia and one of the co-sponsors was a beer company “Natakhtari”.
20 foreign guests have been living in hosting families during 20 days and they have spent 10 days in Atskuri camp, to visit sites nearby and introduce with Georgian culture and traditions. The youth exchange camp was successfully held in Georgia. Programs promoting a healthy life style included: sport competitions, touristic camping, intellectual games, drifting and mountain hiking. A series of presentations around past and present history of Georgia added its contribution for our youth in making friends with the rest world and get acquainted with the history of Georgia.
