Lions Eye Clinic

Lions eye projects in Georgia was started in 2014.
For the first time in Georgia a Lions eye clinic was established.
Opening ceremony of Lions eye clinic was held on November 11,2014.
Establishment and equipment of Lions eye clinic was carried out with support of Nordic Countries- Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland Lions clubs and Lions Clubs International Foundation.
Opening of the clinic had a huge international implication. Past international president, LCIF Chairperson Barry J. Palmer from Australia, international Relations Chairman Bent Jespersen and coordinating Lion of Georgia PID Jorn Andersen from Denmark arrived with official visit at the opening ceremony. Representatives of MOH, foreign embassies, Tbilisi State Medical University Rector and chancellor, Georgian Lions clubs’ members attended the opening ceremony.
 
The Lions Eye Diabetes Clinic – Georgia was established with the support of Lions Club International in March 2018 , which together with the Tbilisi Endocrinologists Lions Club implements diabetes management, treatment and prevention measures.

The clinic is equipped with the latest ophthalmic equipment, staffed by highly qualified Georgian doctors. The clinic is periodically visited by leading specialists from both European and American eye clinics.
“Lions Diabetes Eye Clinic – Georgia participates in the implementation of Lions Clubs International eye projects and eye projects of various international organizations.


The current project of the clinic is “Promote Early Prevention and Better management of Diabetes complications”. The project is supported by the World Diabetes Foundation and the Lions Clubs International. Project is implemented together with the Welfare Foundation.
This is the first joint project of WDF and LCI in our region.
